Damsté is the fastest growing law firm in the Netherlands

AMSTERDAM (NL) – No other law firm in the Netherlands has grown as fast as Damsté lawyers – civil law notaries in the last 5 years. That is why Damsté received the award in the category Fastest Growth in Advocacy at the “Stand van de Advocatuur Award”. This prize was awarded on 4 November 2021 in De Hallen in Amsterdam.

The fastest growing law firm
You cannot be nominated for the award in the Fastest Growth category. The award is based on statistics from Advocatie, the leading medium in the Dutch legal profession. Based on the last five years, it is determined which law firm in the Netherlands has grown the most during this period.

The award ceremony took place during the 16th edition of the prestigious award ceremony where the “Gouden Zandlopers” were presented. These are the most prestigious awards for Dutch lawyers, notaries, solicitors and innovators in the legal field, presented by Sdu and the news site Advocatie.nl. Together with the winners of the other categories, Anne Harperink of Damsté was presented with the Stand van de Advocatuur Award in Amsterdam.

International market as main reason for growth
In the last year alone, Damsté has won over fifty new employees. About half of these are due to the mergers with Dijks Leijssen Advocaten & Rechtsanwälte on 1 January 2021 and with Amsterdam law firm BDM on 1 May 2021. Both firms now work under the name of Damsté lawyers – civil law notaries. This has considerably strengthened Damsté’s position on the international market. With offices in the border region to Germany and the Dutch capital Amsterdam, Damsté is optimally positioned to serve the needs of clients from abroad. In addition, Damsté has grown strongly in the notary sector in the years before.

Chairman of the board: “We are very proud”
Jan Schutrups, Chairman of the Board at Damsté, is delighted with the award. “We are very proud to be the fastest growing firm in our sector and to be able to call ourselves by far the largest firm in our region. Fortunately, more and more clients who are also active internationally are finding their way to us. This is due in no small part to the expansion of our contacts in Germany and our office in Amsterdam.”

Training talent
Especially among students in Groningen and Nijmegen (both in the Netherlands), Damsté is doing well, says Schutrups. “We are not growing for growth’s sake, but also want to train young talent ourselves. As a rule, they stay with us longer than the regular training period of three years.” Students and lawyers from Germany also work at Damsté.
